Engineered for Professionals: V2-T Elite Features
Designed around safety, communication, serviceability, and install efficiency.
Unmatched Safety with an Integrated 400A Class T Fuse
High-capacity 12V systems running large inverters require serious short-circuit protection. This 12V battery with Class T fuse protection includes a user-serviceable 400A Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse inside the battery that reduces fault energy at the battery outlet. Downstream protection is still required: install a main fuse or DC-rated breaker as close as practical to the battery positive terminal.
Seamless Victron & CANbus Communication
This Victron compatible lithium battery uses CANbus communication to share real-time battery data with compatible GX devices. In a properly configured Victron system (DVCC on, controlling BMS and battery monitor set to Epoch), the battery BMS publishes its charge limits and state of charge for DVCC to manage charging.
IP67 Dust-Tight, Immersion-Rated Enclosure
The IP67 lithium enclosure is dust-tight and rated for temporary immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes with all seals, glands, and port plugs installed. Install it in a clean, dry location away from bilge water and standing water, and remove it from service after any immersion until it has been evaluated.
Smart Internal Heating for Cold-Weather Charging
The cold-weather heated battery design uses a 180.67W internal heater, powered by a connected charger rather than stored battery energy, to warm the cells before they accept charge: charging pauses at 0°C (32°F), the heater runs below 5°C, and charging resumes once the battery reaches 5°C (41°F). This protects the lithium cells when charging in cold RV, marine, and off-grid systems.
Real-Time Bluetooth Monitoring App
Use the free Epoch Cloud app (iOS and Android), connected through the Bluetooth module in the included State of Charge meter, to view state of charge, cell voltage, temperature, charge/discharge cycles, current flow, and system health alerts without installing a separate battery monitor just for basic visibility.

What can it run?
Planning estimates for a single 5.89kWh battery, using 80% of nominal energy (about 4,710Wh). Inverter efficiency, temperature, battery age and duty cycle change real-world results.
Victron and non-Victron charging setup
Program charge sources correctly and let the BMS communicate when available.
For non-Victron systems, Epoch lists 14.2V absorption, 15 minutes of absorption time per battery, 13.5V float, equalization off, and temperature compensation disabled. For Victron systems, connect the battery communication harness, confirm the battery appears on the GX device, turn on DVCC, and set the controlling BMS and battery monitor to Epoch, then program every MultiPlus, Quattro and other charge source with the same settings so charging stays within limits if CAN communication is lost.
Epoch 12V 460Ah V2-T Elite Series FAQs
Common questions about Class T fuse protection, Victron communication, inverters, IP67 ingress protection, series and parallel banks, and cold-weather charging.
What does the “T” in the V2-T Elite Series mean?
The “T” refers to the integrated Class T fuse. This 12V battery includes a user-serviceable 400A Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse that reduces fault energy at the battery outlet. It does not replace downstream protection: a main fuse or DC-rated breaker is still required as close as practical to the battery positive terminal. Always verify final protection requirements with your installer, ABYC guidance, and local standards.
Is this battery fully compatible with Victron Energy systems?
Yes, through compatible Victron GX devices. Using the built-in CAN bus ports and the included communication harness, it connects at 500 kbit/s to a Victron Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX (BMS-CAN port) or a Cerbo GX MK2 (VE.CAN 1 or 2). With DVCC on and the controlling BMS and battery monitor set to Epoch, the BMS publishes its charge limits, state of charge and status to the GX device. Also program every MultiPlus, Quattro and other charge source with Epoch's charging settings as a fallback in case CAN communication is lost.
Can I use this battery in a wet marine environment?
Yes, in a clean, dry, protected compartment. The V2-T Elite battery has an IP67 enclosure per IEC 60529: dust-tight and rated for temporary immersion up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, but only with all seals, glands and port plugs installed. Epoch still calls for a clean, dry, accessible location protected from bilge water, salt spray and direct terminal exposure, with no standing water around the case or terminals. Remove the battery from service after any immersion until it has been evaluated.
What size inverter can a single 12V 460Ah V2-T run?
A single 12V 460Ah LiFePO4 battery stores 5,888Wh / 5.89kWh of nominal energy and provides 230A continuous discharge with 500A peak output for up to 30 seconds. In a properly engineered 12V system, the 230A continuous rating is about 2,944W of DC output before inverter losses, so a single battery is commonly suited to 2,500W to 3,000W class inverters with proper cabling, fusing, inverter sizing and load management.
Can I connect multiple V2-T 460Ah batteries together?
Yes. The C12460A-A supports up to 16 batteries in parallel, allowing a system to scale from one 5.89kWh battery up to roughly 94.2kWh (7,360Ah) of 12V storage, or up to 4 batteries in series for a 48V-class string. Series-parallel configuration is not supported, and every battery in a bank must be a matched C12460A-A of similar age, condition and firmware at the same state of charge, with one Master set by DIP switches.
Will the battery charge if I am camping in freezing weather?
Yes, as long as a LiFePO4 charger is connected and supplying current. At 0°C (32°F) the BMS low-temperature cut-off pauses charging and incoming charge power runs the internal heater, which switches on below 5°C and off at 10°C. Charging resumes automatically once the battery reaches 5°C (41°F). Heating never uses stored battery energy, so little or no charge current during warm-up is normal.
Does the battery need a separate Bluetooth shunt or monitor?
No separate shunt is required for basic battery visibility. The included State of Charge meter shows state of charge, voltage and current, and houses the Bluetooth 4.0 module that connects to the free Epoch Cloud app (iOS and Android) to display state of charge, cell voltage, temperature, charge and discharge cycles, and system health alerts.
Is this an ABYC compliant battery?
ABYC compliance is assessed for the complete vessel installation, not for the battery alone. The battery includes a user-serviceable 400A Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse that reduces fault energy at the battery outlet; downstream protection is still required. Epoch's manual lists ABYC E-11, ABYC E-13 and U.S. Coast Guard requirements, where applicable, as the marine reference set. Final vessel compliance depends on the complete installation, including cable sizing, routing, overcurrent protection, disconnects, and installer practices.
